The Pro League’s sixth date of the first stage concluded with Club Sport Emelec and Independiente del Valle battling to a goalless draw at the George Capwell stadium in Guayaquil.

Emelec missed out on the opportunity to claim the top spot in the championship standings, settling for a draw instead. Aucas now sits at the top of the table with 13 points after celebrating the result.

In other matches, Universidad Católica defeated Orense 5-1, moving closer to the league leaders with 10 points. Deportivo Cuenca and Delfín played to a 0-0 draw at the Jorge Andrade Cantos stadium in Azogues.

The day kicked off on Thursday with Liga de Quito dominating Imbabura SC with a 5-0 victory, thanks to a hat trick from Paraguayan Álex Arce.

On Friday night, Barcelona SC returned to action after a 10-day hiatus, drawing 1-1 against Macará at the Bellavista stadium in Ambato. Darío Mina scored for the light blue team, while Janner Corozo netted for the yellow team.

Saturday featured three games, with Aucas defeating Mushuc Runa 2-0 at home, goals coming from Jeison Medina and Angelo Mina. Libertad FC secured their first win of the season by beating Técnico Universitario 1-0 in Loja, with Lautaro Disanto finding the back of the net.

The surprise of the day came from Cumbayá, as El Nacional fell to a 1-0 defeat against an underdog team, with Melvin Díaz converting a penalty in the final minutes to secure the victory.
