Tottenham Hotspur and Timo Werner lost a valuable three points in the English Premier League.

The Spurs couldn’t get past a meager 1-1 (1-1) draw at West Ham United on Tuesday (04/02/24) and missed the potential jump to fourth place. The gap to the last Champions League place and opponent Aston Villa is now two points.

Werner with an assist, but was not convincing

In captain Heung-Min Son’s 400th competitive game for Tottenham, Werner prepared Brennan Johnson’s lead (5th) with one of his typical quick starts from the left. In the eleventh competitive game for Spurs, it was the Leipzig loanee’s fifth goal, and the 28-year-old scored two league goals himself.

Seventh-placed West Ham equalized with a header from Kurt Zouma (19th) after a corner. Werner was substituted in the 82nd minute after a rather weak performance – apart from his assist.
