The 41st edition of the Transcavallo, a team race included among the satellite competitions of the prestigious La Grande Course circuit, will take place in a single stage, the start will be in Val Salatis between the town of Tambre and Chies d’Alpago on Saturday 17 February . The decision to cancel the first stage scheduled for Friday 16 February was made by the Organizing Committee chaired by Diego Svalduz after the inspection carried out on Monday morning by the route managers.

The latest disturbance, as the weather forecast had announced, did not leave a sufficient quantity of snow at low altitudes to be able to race the Transcavallo on the original route and the starting area of the Piancavallo lifts was also affected by the rain. At this moment, although the ski slopes of the ski area are open and accessible, logistical problems are prevalent and have led to the cancellation of the 1st stage.

The Transcavallo will therefore return with the start in Val Salatis on Saturday 17 February along a route that follows the route that awarded the world titles in 2017 and where it ran from 2020 to 2022. For the team race there will be approximately 22 kilometers of development and 2,500 meters of positive altitude difference while the single Classic will have a length of 15 kilometers and 1,450 meters of positive altitude difference.

The SkAlpago Experience returns on Sunday morning, an excursion open to all sealskin enthusiasts organized with the collaboration and help of the CAI Alpago ski mountaineering school and local associations. The Transcavallo program will therefore see the opening of the center races on Friday with then in the late afternoon the ritual briefing for both races at the Alpine Cinema, it should be noted that the convivial part of the three days will also be repositioned in Tambre in the area of the Pian de Dora sports facilities.

Registrations are therefore extended and active until the evening of Thursday 15 February on the website www.transcavallo.it
