Turn in Lega Pro: in Serie C we start with the Var in the playoffs

A big news in Lega Pro. Starting from this season’s playoff semifinals, Serie C will also benefit from the Var: president Francesco Ghirelli announced it at the Lega Pro assembly. “Finally we too will be able to count on the use of the Var. It was our goal and these first 6 games of experimentation will help us, because we hope to have it for the whole championship.” In the semifinals and finals, in fact, in the control room of the Var there will be referees of series A and B waiting for those of Can C to then take specific courses to have the necessary training on how to use the Var. “We thank the president of the Figc Gabriele Gravina and the president of The Hague Alfredo Trentalange for their support and sharing of this project. We will work on training and to see what to do in the next championship ».

During the assembly, President Ghirelli also spoke about other topics, starting from the work that Lega Pro is carrying out and which allowed him to grow in reputation and credibility: “In recent months, Lega Pro has met many young people, rediscovering dialogue with them thanks to the project of Blessed Acutis. Then there was the great event divided into several stages dedicated to Artemio Franchi where many school children, through the exhibition and the conference, learned about the history of our League and of Italian football: this allowed them to access an important civil, moral and cultural heritage. The choice we make is aimed at training and focuses on innovation and infrastructure. We are very proud of our team which is achieving good results, comparing it with teams of the same age from higher leagues. I thank the vice presidents Marcel Vulpis and Luigi Ludovici for the work they do, among other things we are the League that has conferred powers ». On the PNRR: “Thanks to this possibility, Lega Pro is acting as a control room to upgrade and modernize the facilities of its clubs.”

“On sponsorships and TV rights we are acquiring important results whose effects will be seen during the playoff dispute.” The president concludes with a thought addressed to the clubs and the war: “As always, the heart of our clubs is immense: many are mobilizing with many initiatives to help Ukraine”. Ghirelli also thanked the Lega Pro staff who managed the event on Artemio Franchi: “he did it with professionalism, passion and sacrifice”. In the assembly of Lega Pro clubs, Simone Pieracci and Fabio Massimo Conti della Fermana and Mauro Jacket of Trento were elected to the Board of Auditors.
