Having won the promotion to C Gold, following the beautiful victory obtained in the playoffs against the Pro 2020 Area, Usac Rivarolo is preparing to play the top regional championship: “Our goal is to achieve a peaceful salvation while making the young people – says the coach Titto Porcelli -. It will not be an easy task because we will have very well equipped teams in front of us, I am thinking for example of Serravalle, Casale and Savigliano who, on paper, are a step above the others. We will try to do well by setting the games on the pace to compensate for our physical deficit. It will be a stimulating challenge and we can’t wait to take the field to enjoy this adventure and find out what our role can be in this extremely difficult championship ».
The roster of the team that won the promotion has not undergone major changes: all players have been confirmed with the exception of Longoni who moved to Spain for study reasons. The former Letter 22 Andrea Tampellini arrived in Rivarolo to fill this gap, while the group was joined by two young people with high hopes: Salvatore Morando and Matteo Costa. Now, under the guidance of coach Porcelli and athletic trainer Cesare Sartore, the team is intensifying its training to present itself in a polished manner to the championship and to complete the running-in before the start, friendlies against Vercelli Rices and Collegno are scheduled while the last is being defined.
The only gripe of the company of president Alessandro Castagna is the inability to play the internal matches at the Rivarolese sports club due to the bottom of the gym not conforming to federal standards. This year he will emigrate to the sports hall in via Volpiano in Leinì (until last year they were in Ivrea) where unfortunately the warm support of the biancoblù fans, for obvious reasons, cannot be as intense as it would have been at the Polisportivo.
No problem, the guys of coach Porcelli will be able to overcome this handicap with their performances, as they showed during the playoffs when they went to win the beautiful one at their opponents’ home. The first home competition of the rivarolesi will take place on Sunday 31 October at 6 pm hosting the Junior Libertas Casale. End of the championship in the first weekend of April and then space for playoffs (which will be played nationally with teams from other regions) and play out to define promoted and rejected. –
