Valbelluna abandoned by the Basket Planet. Tomas: “We go on alone with the little ones”

Valbelluna on its own. By choice of the Minibasket Planet, the collaboration between the red and white company and that of pure nursery carried out by the other Belluno association will not continue. This is why the company chaired by Massimo Tomas has planned the opening of new Minibasket Centers from September.

«For realities like ours», explains Tomas, «it is necessary to take an active part in trying to be“ attractive ”towards the youngest».

However, this would perhaps have been simpler if it had happened in synergy. Instead nothing.

«We had signed a technical, sporting and organizational collaboration agreement with Planet in June 2020. In practice, they would have taken care of the management of all the minibasket activity, as then happened until the end of the season just passed. We were responsible for organizing all the youth activities, starting from the under 13 category onwards, and for the senior teams. With the old presidency of the Minibasket Planet there was also the desire to merge the two companies, as happened in 2014 with the Bellbasket. Instead, the new presidency decided not to extend the collaboration agreement that expired on June 30th ”.

There are numerous activities scheduled this summer. A few days ago, at the Maraga Park in Belluno, a free “Open Day” took place, while the specialization Basket Camp at Pian Longhi in Nevegal is soon scheduled with the collaboration of the technical staff of Rucker Sanve in San Vendemiano. How many at the minibasket centers, at the moment those of Belluno, Sedico and Sospirolo have already been organized, but those of Santa Giustina and Limana are also at an advanced stage of definition, thanks to the fruitful collaboration with local administrations.

Valbelluna will kick off an articulated promotional campaign throughout the province in the coming months, reserving a particularly low annual fee for all new registrations thanks to the financial support of the main sponsor Veneta 21.
