VARZI
The victory of the first Rally Valli Oltrepo galvanized Massimo Brega. For the expert rally driver from Pavia, who had made his debut this year in Castelletto in the unprecedented role of navigator of his son Davide, an almost perfect test: for him having demonstrated the opposite of “no prophet at home”, hitting the victory in the home, is by far the greatest satisfaction.
«I am very happy with this result – explains the driver from Pavia, now in his 24th career victory – it was the first time I raced with the Volkswagen Polo R5 and I had a great time, the car behaved impeccably; as far as the race is concerned, I must say that I really liked it – he adds – good tests, a very technical and demanding course ».
As a man of the world, then, Brega does not hide his satisfaction for the excellent overall response that the event had in the area: “It was my home race and I could not help but notice that the welcome was excellent – he says – so many people in Varzi and so many people on the tests is an excellent sign for the discipline, but also an opportunity that the territory, from what we have seen, has been able to seize ».
The next appointments? «At the moment the Salsomaggiore Rally in July and, later on, the stage of the Italian Rally Cross championship in Castelletto are safe».
Another great protagonist of Valli Oltrepo was Riccardo Canzian from Bronno: in his first race with the Renault Clio S1600, sailed by Davide Pisati, the talent of the Errerossa team achieved sixth place overall and first among two-wheel drive cars. –
