VALSIR MOUNTAIN RUNNING WORLD CUP 2024

From June to October, events not to be missed for mountain running lovers. Jonathan Wyatt is coordinator of the circuit, having been president of the WMRA and 5 times world champion of the specialty. «The Valsir Mountain Running World Cup 2024 is getting closer and closer and it is so exciting to wait impatiently for the first race after months of planning. We are so pleased to be working with all 13 races this year across 10 locations in 8 countries. Last week we were able to share ideas at the organizers’ conference and present the format and the new support structure that the WMRA was able to put in place thanks to the support of the sponsor Valsir. We will start on Friday 21 June in the United States, in the beautiful Olympic Valley location. With a spectacular racing calendar spanning 8 countries, 10 events and 13 races, the 2024 season will offer an exciting range of locations and challenges. Supporting our commitment to fair play and athlete support, all Gold Label competitions will adhere to WADA-accredited anti-doping measures, while amplified travel assistance and increased prize money, including a total final prize money of EUR 30,000, will be provided by the WMRA».+

Tomor SarfPresident of the WMRA: «The World Mountain Running Association celebrates two important anniversaries this year: our organization was founded 40 years ago and 25 years ago, the first edition of the World Cup was organized. Since the WMRA is closely linked to World Athletics (before the IAAF), the name of this circuit was also for the first 15 years “Grand Prix” – as the name of an athletics meeting circuit. Starting with 4 international races in 1999, the World Cup is in the “post-covid time” composed of around 15 high-level mountain running races, held in different countries on different continents»
