Varzi, three hellish days as a favorite for the D to the almost inevitable surrender

by admin

VARZI

In three days the scenario has almost reversed. Two defeats, five goals conceded, and only 2 scored, put Varzi in the opposite conditions: from favorite to final victory and jump in Serie D, to leaders now hunted by their opponents. Club Milano, Alcione and Sant’Angelo are there, and having two and three games to play respectively, compared to the only one of the grenades, now they have the “knife on the side of the handle”.

Hopes at a glance

Varzi’s hopes are reduced to a flicker, considering that on Sunday 6 he will observe the rest and then will have only one useful game, among other things the direct clash at the “Church”, on the hot field of Sant’Angelo. The grenade from 17, by winning, would rise to a maximum of 20. Club Milano has returned forcefully, beating Varzi last Sunday with a goal in the 97th minute and drawing the direct match in the midweek round with Sant’Angelo, now in second place at 16 (-1 from Varzi) and has to play two games, Pavia and Sancolombano, teams that have nothing more to ask from the championship. For the men of Mr. Scalise six points available, which would project them to an altitude of 22 (+2 on Varzi if he were to win in Sant’Angelo and reach 20). Among the favorites to jump to D, there is obviously the Alcione (6 points in the last two games that have brought him to 16 equal to Club Milano) who has three matches to play. Sunday 6 at home with Sangiuliano, then Wednesday 9 the recovery (which could be decisive in case of success) with Sant’Angelo, then rest on the last day and recovery at Fortunati against Pavia (still to be fixed). Nine points available and therefore the hypothetical possibility of even climbing to an altitude of 25, which would mean Serie D. There remains the Sant’Angelo (at an altitude of 14) which will do everything to win the three races that remain (and thus get to 23), against, in order, Codogno (Sunday 6), recovery with Alcione (Wednesday 9) and challenge with Varzi (Sunday 13). Calendar in hand will count a lot the outcome of the Alcione-Sant’Angelo direct clash (recovery on Wednesday 9). Considering the schedule, direct matches and number of games to be played, the favorite is Alcione, followed by Club Milano, Sant’Angelo and, unfortunately, Varzi lastly. –
