Antwerp started the match against Club Brugge particularly fiercely, perhaps a little too fiercely even. After the first half at Eleven DAZN, when it was still 0-0, Janssen was allowed to explain. “I was a bit excited,” said the Dutchman. “You want to get off to a good start straight away. But this wasn’t the best way, I know that myself. I was the first to be blocked. Then I wanted to give a block back, but I slipped. It was a bit too much. I let myself go a bit.”

According to Eleven DAZN commentator Michael Van Vaerenbergh, Janssen received the fastest yellow card ever. Following Van Vaerenbergh, the previous record was held by Felipe Abner of RWDM. The Brazilian defender was booked after seventeen seconds in the Brussels derby against Anderlecht for an arm in the face of Theo Leoni.
