Vigevano restarts from Piazza and from the inspiration of Laudoni

The coach from Brianza confirmed for the fifth season after touching the A2. The ex Cividale exterior signs with the ducals

VIGEVANO

Elachem’s purchasing campaign starts with a reconfirmation and with the arrival of an important name. In the first case, we are talking about coach Paolo Piazza who for the fifth consecutive year will be at the helm of the yellow and blue team, in the season just ended, one step away from the sensational promotion to A2.

The carreer

The leading name is instead that of Stefano Laudoni, one of the best outsiders in the category, coming out of Cividale, rival of the ducals in the very final play off. «On the pitch Laudoni is also a divisive element – explains Pallacanestro Vigevano in a press release – on the one hand those who have him in the team are exalted by his plays, on the other those who have him against him hate him. For 2022/2023, the yellow and blue people are ready to move into the first faction, just long enough to admire its first numbers. A name whose fame, both on and off the court, proceeds him with momentum ».

Small forward, born in 1989, a native of Palestrina, in whose team in 2006/2007, in Serie B, at the age of 17, Laudoni averaged 5 points in 12 races. He earns his participation in the Under 18 European Championship and the call to Serie A in Pesaro. The following year he goes down to B in Fossombrone, and in the second year in the Marche, he reaches the double-digit average (9.75 pt in 17 ‘). He returns to Palestrina (10 points), spends a season between Ruvo and Recanati and, finally, in Rieti (12 points in 25 ‘). Good experiences in B, but in 2012/2013 he ends up in C2 in Sora. It is the most difficult moment of his career. He wins the championship, closes the following year in Dnc with 25 points per game and returns to Serie B in Valsesia (16 points), ending the season with a surprising third place. In 2015/2016 he made his debut in A2 in Legnano: 13 races with 6 points per game. He returns to the cadeteria, to Matera, and to the double figure of achievement (16 pt in 32 ‘). A four-year period in Lombardy begins in 2017: first at Super Flavor Milano (now Urania) where he keeps 16 points per race, then in Bernareggio, where he lives an extraordinary three-year period with an average of almost 20; in 2019/2020 the Brianza are first in the standings when the season is suspended, in 2020/2021 they win the centenary Super Cup, of which it is the MVP, and stop at the “beauty” of the play-off semifinals. Laudoni evolves into a driving force, which is why he is chosen by coach Pillastrini, who had had him in the national team, to push the ambitious Cividale to the definitive leap in quality. In Friuli he produces the usual double digits (11 pt in 25 ‘), but from the 25th day, after being elected MVP of the match against Padua, he is suspended as a precaution for anti-doping positivity (provision now returned). “This is enormous nonsense – the ducal leadership points out – a lightness that you do not expect from a seasoned professional, but not to be demonized because it is in any case related to a non-doping substance”.
