After 63 days Caselle and Volpianese of B2 female will again face each other at the gymnasium of the primary school Gianni Rodari in Caselle. The last confrontation between the two teams dates back to Saturday 27 March, the last day of the A2 group of the first phase of the B2 series, when it was the Caselle 3-2 that won, now instead, tomorrow, Saturday 29 May at 17.30, the two clubs are playing for the victory of the championship at the Piedmontese level and a place in Serie B1.
In the Volpianese home the goal is to return to Caselle not with the same result as 63 days ago, to face the return match, Saturday 5 June at 9 pm at the Pala Unità d’Italia in the best possible way, as also stated by the opposite Roberta Rinaldi, 30 years old from Villanova Canavese: «A battle against Caselle will be waiting for us, as we did in the first phase, both in our home and from them – commented Rinaldi -. The head must only go to this match, otherwise we would already think about the return, we would make a serious mistake. We know Caselle and they know us, what matters most is to have an intense game and try to bring home as many points as possible. Even in the final, as already happened for the quarterfinals and semifinals, in the double confrontation, whoever has collected the most points will count, while in the event of a tie at the end of the two challenges, the golden set will proceed, i.e. a fraction up to 15 points. , which is equivalent to penalty kicks for football – says Rinaldi -. We hope not to have to get there, even if we would play the eventual golden set at home and this could be an advantage because we know every inch of our gym and have our points of reference ».
In the first leg the setter Giorgia Ivaldi could be absent from the Volpianese ranks, injured her spine during the match with Serteco Genova (after the second set), while the central Aurora Ghibaudo should be in the game, as coach Stefano also explains Andreotti: «We are awaiting the resonance made by Ivaldi regarding the injury suffered a week ago, then based on the outcome we will decide on its possible use. In the meantime, however, we have already considered alternative solutions, while good news concerns the fact that the Ghibaudo plant will be in the game. Or rather, he could play a segment of the match – says Andreotti – thus helping the team during construction. We have to start from the first two sets against Serteco Genova seven days ago also against Caselle, a team that we have already beaten, but playing at home, on the fifth day of the first phase and that we respect a lot: they have a strong roster in every department, we will have to play the perfect match to win.
