Rome, 2 November 2021 – Autumn in full force. The forecast updated say it will last at least until next weekend thewave of bad weather which will strike Italy from tomorrow. In the focus mainly the Center North and on the weekend again the central regions and the South. Stefano Ghetti, meteorologist of the site ilMeteo.it announces that after a largely dry and sunny Tuesday, from Wednesday 3 November Italy will be reached by colder air coming from Northern Europe which will give rise to a cyclone near the Ligurian Sea. “The real autumn in Italy is coming”, explains Ghetti, “and we will have to deal with rains, thunderstorms and even heavy snowfalls along the Alpine sectors”. The weather, in particular, will tend to worsen conspicuously from Sardinia to Tuscany and Lazio, where local storms are expected, to then affect the North with gradually more widespread and abundant rainfall.

Copious snow in the mountains

Along the alpine and pre-alpine sectors, the meteorologist specifies, the snow will be abundant again, with the flakes that can fall up to under 1,500 meters close to the Alpine borders. The snow – the experts write on the site – “could whiten places like Livigno (SO), Madonna di Campiglio (TN), Solda (BZ) and Cortina d’Ampezzo (BL) even for the whole day of Thursday 4”. Eventually even 5/10 centimeters of new snow could accumulate above 1,000 meters of altitude.

Time on the weekend

“The cyclone, however – concludes Ghetti – will not leave our country so easily: after a highly unstable Thursday in the morning, especially in the North and in the Tyrrhenian Center, from Friday the weather will get worse again on Sardinia, with local storms, which will later affect the central peninsular regions and the South during the weekend “.
