What is the fortune of Julio César Chávez Jr? Mexican boxer who was arrested in the United States

Julio César Chávez Jr. was arrested on January 8 in Los Angeles, California, for illegal carrying of weapons, although he was held for a few days, the Mexican boxer will continue his process to be released after paying bail of USD 50 thousand, the same which would have been paid from the fortune he maintains due to his career.

The eldest son of the legend Julio César Chávez has not had a good time in recent years due to addictions, which forced his family to admit him to a rehabilitation center for a long time, a situation that left him marked.

After concluding his rehabilitation in 2023, Chávez Jr. had attacked his father and those close to him, arguing that they had kidnapped him, even pointing out that the Mexican boxing legend had sent people to try to end his life.

After being inactive since 2021, “El Junior” expected to return to the ring in 2024, however, the year did not start in the best way for him, after being arrested for illegally carrying weapons in the United States, then that a “ghost gun” was found in his house.

His father was the one who confirmed his arrest, pointing out that they were already working on the Mexican boxer situation. Chávez Jr. was released on bail to be able to face his trial in freedom, since the charges were not dropped, in addition to the fact that he will have to join a rehabilitation program.

After having to pay USD 50 thousand bail, an estimated 840 thousand pesos, people have begun to question the amount of Julio César Chávez’s fortune, which he managed to reap during his years as a professional boxer.

During his career, “Julito” fought 61 times, achieving 53 victories, 34 of them by knockout, one draw, one abandonment and 6 defeats, the most remembered being the one suffered against Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez in 2017, in the T-Mobil Arena, in Las Vegas.

According to the specialized portal Celebrity Net Worth, Chávez Jr.’s fortune is USD 4 million, an approximate of 67 million Mexican pesos with the current exchange rate, a figure that seems small considering that at some point it was estimated a total of USD 20 million, that is, more than 300 million pesos.

The drop in his fortune is due to the inactivity he has had, remembering that his last fight was in December 2021, when he defeated the Peruvian David Zegarra. Furthermore, he does not have a significant income considering the luxuries in which he lives.

His return to the ring will have to wait taking into account the current situation, although due to the process he will have to face and the rehabilitation he will undergo, at 37 years old he may have finished his career.
