Why Albert Pujols and Miguel Cabrera will be sure members of the Hall of Fame?

Dominican Adrián Beltré recently became one of only 60 players in the entire history of Major League Baseball to reach the Hall of Fame in their first opportunity, with 7 of them being Latino. This list is expected to grow in a short time with the upcoming exaltations of Dominican Albert Pujols and Venezuelan Miguel Cabrera.

Analysts are in consensus that both Pujols and Cabrera will enter the Hall of Fame as soon as their names appear on the ballots in 2028 and 2029, respectively. They are considered among the best of all time in several offensive departments and have had illustrious careers in the majors.

Albert Pujols recently retired after a 22-year career in the Major Leagues, becoming one of just four players in history with 700 home runs. He achieved this milestone with consistency, longevity, and a commitment to excellence, ending his career with the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Angels, and Dodgers.

Miguel Cabrera also had a remarkable 21-season career in MLB, overcoming injuries to finish with a lifetime average of .306, 3,174 hits, 627 doubles, and 511 home runs. He notably achieved the Triple Crown in 2012 and was a key player for the Detroit Tigers, winning four batting titles and 7 Silver Bats. He is also the only player after Hank Aaron with an average over .300 and more than 500 home runs and more than 600 doubles in his lifetime.

Both players are among the select few with 3,000 hits, 500 home runs, and 600 doubles in Major League history. As such, there is overwhelming confidence that Pujols and Cabrera’s induction into the Hall of Fame is all but assured when they become eligible, barring any unforeseen scandals.
