Xi’an News Network reported at 3 pm on September 17, the women’s water polo event finals of the 14th National Games started in Baoji City Swimming and Diving Hall.
A total of 111 athletes from 8 teams from Shaanxi, Shanghai, Guangxi, Hunan, Tianjin, Fujian, Sichuan and the United Team participated. According to the competition system, the final teams are divided into two groups to conduct single-loop preliminaries, and then to the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals. Each game must be divided into winners and losers, tied with a 5m free throw to determine the winner.
The first round of the first game in the afternoon was the preliminaries of Group A. The opening match was between Hunan and Sichuan. In the end, Hunan defeated Sichuan with a big score of 17:6 and won the first victory. In the second round of preliminaries of the single-loop group A that followed, the Shanghai team and the Tianjin team drew within 4 quarters of the game. In the penalty shootout, the Shanghai team defeated the Tianjin team with a total score of 13:11. . In the single round preliminaries of Group B, the Shaanxi team regrettably lost the Fujian team 12:14, and the United team defeated the Guangxi team 18:3.
After the first match day of the women’s final stage of the water polo event of the 14th National Games, the Hunan and Shanghai teams in Group A had 2 points, and the Sichuan and Tianjin teams had 0 points. Group B Fujian team and United team have 2 points, Shaanxi team and Guangxi team have 0 points.
