New! Traffic tickets now even come with two QR codes!

My husband parked longer than he paid for and got a ticket because of it. The deal in our relationship is that one person pays the other’s fines so that you only have to get really annoyed at least once, so I’m responsible for the payment.

The ticket is a piece of paper from the city of Leverkusen with a QR code and an identifier made up of letters, numbers and special characters and a link to the online portal.

I first try to see if I can simply scan the QR code in my banking app, but that doesn’t work because it only contains the link to the online portal for the tickets, but not the payment details themselves. So I scan the QR code as normal, it lands me on the online portal and the identifier is recognized automatically. For some reason I still have to enter the license plate number and then I get another QR code that I can download and then upload again to my banking app. The transfer details are actually hidden behind it and then I’m done and because it wasn’t my ticket, I wasn’t even annoyed about it.
