Sony to Introduce PS5 Pro with Enhanced Features and Higher Price Tag
According to a recent financial meeting from Sony, the highly anticipated PS5 console will soon enter the final stage of production. In addition, there are reports suggesting that Sony is gearing up to release an enhanced version, known as the PS5 Pro, later this year.
The information was leaked by the tech site “Moore’s Law is Dead,” citing information from within AMD. The PS5 Pro is expected to be equipped with an AMD Zen 2 architecture with an 8-core chip that will improve the overall computing power. It is also reported to have a larger memory capacity, with an upgrade from 16GB DDR6 to possibly 56GB. The GPU will also see a significant enhancement, with 60 compute units compared to the standard PS5’s 36.
Despite these advancements, the Pro version will come with a higher price tag, estimated to be around 499 USD. This translates to approximately 17,580 in local currency. The increased cost has led to concerns among gamers, with worries of a potential financial burden.
Furthermore, it is rumored that the PS5 Pro is expected to hit the market at the end of 2024. This news has also sparked discussions about Sony’s plans to incorporate technology similar to NVIDIA DLSS to improve graphics and overall performance.
As excitement around the next-gen console continues to grow, there are expectations for even more developments and innovations in the gaming industry. This includes potential improvements in resolution and performance to cater to the ever-evolving needs of gamers.
While Sony continues to dominate the market with its latest releases, the rise in costs for enhanced versions of their consoles may pose a challenge for consumers who are looking to make the upgrade. Nonetheless, the introduction of the PS5 Pro is expected to bring a new level of gaming experience for enthusiasts worldwide.
