AMD Unveils Ryzen 7 8700G APU with Built-in Radeon 780M, Beats GTX 1650

At the CES 2024 conference, AMD made a groundbreaking announcement regarding its new Ryzen 8000G APU desktop processor. The company revealed that the Ryzen 8000G APU will be officially released on January 31, with support for all AMD A620 / B650 / X670 platform AM5 motherboards.

The Ryzen 8000G APU lineup will consist of four models: Ryzen 3 8300G, Ryzen 5 8500G, Ryzen 5 8600G, and the flagship Ryzen 8700G. All of these models will feature the Radeon 700M RDNA3 graphics core and the XNDA AI computing unit, marking a significant leap forward for AMD in terms of processing power.

The Ryzen 8300G and 8500G will be equipped with Zen 4 / 4c large and small core designs and will include lower-spec Radeon 740M (4CU) GPUs. On the other hand, the 8600G and 8700G will feature Zen 4 full-size processors, along with the more powerful Radeon 760M (8CU) and 780M (12CU) GPUs, respectively.

According to data provided by AMD, the GPU gaming performance of the Ryzen 8700G is up to 4 times faster than that of the Core i7-14700K and up to 1.31 times faster than the entry-level GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card. This makes the Ryzen 8700G APU an ideal choice for building a Mini PC with top-of-the-line gaming capabilities.

The key specifications of the Ryzen 8000G APU lineup are as follows:

ā€“ AMD Ryzen 3 8300G: 1C + 3c / 8T, 4.9GHz, 12M Cache, Radeon 740M GPU (4CU), 65W TDP
ā€“ AMD Ryzen 5 8500G: 2C + 4c / 12T, 5GHz, 22M Cache, Radeon 740M GPU (4CU), 65W TDP
ā€“ AMD Ryzen 5 8600G with Ryzen AI: 6C / 12T, 5GHz, 22M Cache, Radeon 760M GPU (8CU), 65W TDP
ā€“ AMD Ryzen 7 8700G with Ryzen AI: 8C / 16T, 5.1GHz, 24M Cache, Radeon 780M GPU (12CU), 65W TDP
