Apple Watches Series 9 and Ultra 2 Experiencing “Ghost Touch” Issues
According to a recent report from MacRumors, Apple has confirmed that some of its Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models are experiencing touch issues and has issued an internal memo to suppliers stating that the company is actively investigating the matter.
The memo detailed that some users have reported experiencing accidental touches on the screens of the affected Apple Watches, referring to the phenomenon as “ghost touch.” These accidental touches have caused the screens to jump randomly and exhibit other abnormal behaviors, with some users even reporting that their watches have automatically made calls and prevented them from entering passwords.
Apple has recommended that affected users update their Apple Watch systems to the latest version, expressing that future watchOS updates may potentially resolve the issue. During the investigation, Apple has instructed technicians to temporarily suspend repairs on affected Apple Watches. As a temporary solution, affected users are advised to press and hold the digital crown and side button at the same time for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears, thus performing a force restart on the watch.
