Early this morning, Apple announced the launch of the M2 Ultra chip, claiming that the overall performance of the Mac Pro using the M2 Ultra chip is 300% higher than that of the Mac Pro using the Intel chip. Apple even called the M2 UItra a “monster chip” at WWDC to show how powerful it is. The new Mac Pro with the M2 Ultra chip starts at US$6,999 (about HK$54,889)

Apple released the first self-developed chip M1 in 2020, and then started the road of independent research and development. Gregory Bryant, a former executive at Intel in 2021, also said that Apple is not a traditional computer chip competitor. Gregory Bryant believes that Apple is not just releasing a CPU, but to integrate the developer ecosystem so that the iPad and iPhone can also be integrated into the entire ecosystem.
