Canon Set to Release EOS R5 Mark II, RF 35mm F1.4L USM, and Development Declaration of EOS R1 Next Month

Exciting news for Canon enthusiasts! The popular camera manufacturer is gearing up to release some new equipment next month, according to foreign reports. Canon is set to unveil the EOS R5 Mark II and RF 35mm F1.4L USM in April, alongside a development declaration for the highly anticipated EOS R1.

The EOS R5 Mark II has been the subject of rumors for several months now, with speculation pointing to a 45MP stacked back-illuminated CMOS sensor and a new DIGIC image processor. The camera is said to feature AI autofocus recognition, a flip screen made of OLED material, and a shooting speed of up to 60fps. Video capabilities are rumored to include 8K RAW recording and support for Canon Log1, 2, and 3.

The RF 35mm F1.4L USM is also expected to make its debut next month. This lens will cater to photographers looking for a large-aperture option in the 35mm focal length range, filling a gap in Canon’s current RF product lineup. While initial rumors suggested a maximum aperture of F1.2, the final product will reportedly have an aperture of F1.4, offering a balance between performance and practicality.

In addition to these new releases, Canon is also expected to announce the development of the EOS R1, a high-end camera positioned above the EOS R3 series. Rumored features include a 30-megapixel full-frame stacked dual-gain CMOS sensor, AI autofocus recognition, and a maximum continuous shooting speed of 120fps. Video recording capabilities are said to include 6.7K 60P short videos and support for C-Log2 and C-Log3.
