CD Projekt to Begin Production of “The Witcher 4” Game

In an interview with Reuters, Adam Badowski, co-CEO of CD Projekt, announced that the Polish game developer will be entering production of a new game in “The Witcher” series. The game, tentatively titled “The Witcher 4” and code-named “Polaris”, will be a departure from the past as it will be built using Epic’s Unreal Engine instead of the RED engine that the company has previously used.

It was also revealed that “The Witcher 4” will be the first game in a new trilogy for the franchise. To support this ambitious project, CD Projekt has assembled its largest development team to date, with nearly 330 people currently working on the game. The company aims to have 400 people on board by the end of the year.

In addition to “The Witcher 4”, CD Projekt is also working on the sequel to “Cyberpunk 2077”, codenamed “Project Orion”, with plans to potentially add multiplayer elements to the game. The company has also formed a new team to explore the use of AI artificial intelligence in future development, while emphasizing that AI cannot replace human creativity in game production.

As for the release date of “The Witcher 4”, analysts believe it is expected to debut in 2026 or 2027. This news indicates that CD Projekt may not be releasing large-scale works in the near future, as the company focuses on the development of these highly anticipated games.
