The increasing subscription numbers despite the rigid measures against account sharing apparently encourage the streaming provider. Netflix is āānow raising prices in Germany too!

German Netflix customers will soon have to pay the most ā no big surprise ā for the premium subscription with 4K picture quality and 3D sound. In the future, this will cost just under 20 euros per month instead of the previous 17.99 euros. The price for the standard subscription is only increased by one euro to 13.99 euros per month. Only the subscription model with advertising remains as usual at 4.99 euros per month. Netflix customers can now also view this information in the help section of their account. Initially, the price increase only seems to apply to new customers. The prices for existing subscriptions remain the same for now. However, if you want to change the subscription model, the new prices are already in effect.
The new pricing policy in Germany should hardly come as a surprise, as Netflix had already raised prices in the USA and France. Even if price increases and the crackdown on account sharing are unpopular with customers, the economic success proves Netflix right. Therefore, this will probably not be the last price increase that we will have to prepare for.
