The new features of EcoStruxure IT software will be available from April Schneider Electric which offer, among other things, more visibility on energy and resource consumption. The new features are the result of twenty years of experience in data centers, software development, regulations, sustainability, combined with machine learning technologies. Customers will have access to a set of reporting tools that in the past would have required in-depth knowledge of manual data calculation methods.
Adaptations to EU regulations
Unlike other solutions on the market, the new model offers a fast, intuitive and easy-to-use reporting tool. Developed to help adapt to the imminent entry into force of regulations such as the European Energy Efficiency Directive (EED). In fact, the new features go far beyond metrics requests by EED, thus ensuring customers can measure performance energy of their data centers in real time and history. And this is in line with all the advanced reporting metrics detailed in Schneider Electric white paper 67.
How to improve sustainability
EcoStruxure IT software allows data center owners and operators to measure and report performance based on historical data and trend analysis. The data is combined with AI-powered features and real-time monitoring tools. This allows you to get information insights that can be used to improve sustainability. A new feature for the download allows companies to quantify and report, with one click, what is necessary. Thus avoiding tiring manual activities and allowing the potential of data to be exploited more easily and quickly in order to reduce the environmental impact of data centers.

Calculate and track PUE per site/room over time with CEN/CENLEC 50600-4-2 methodology. Leverage data analytics models and cloud data lakes to simplify PUE reporting. A new era of Green IT
In 2021, Schneider Electric launched its Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSIs) program, in which the company’s sustainability commitments are made public. In line with the expected objectives, CIO Elizabeth Hackenson launched the Green IT program. This is a sustainable IT initiative and all-encompassing to identify new decarbonisation paths, aiming to achieve a reduction in emissions produced by corporate IT of at least 5% each year.
Energy consumption of IT infrastructures
Schneider Electric has used EcoStruxure IT software, deployed at more than 140 sites globally, to improve the resilience and security of its IT operations. Carrying out the Green IT program it became clear that new features could be introduced into the software exploited also to achieve greater sustainability. This allows you to significantly improve visibility into the energy consumption of IT infrastructures. Using the information obtained, for example, Schneider Electric was able to reduce the energy consumption recorded in its smart factory in Lexington, Kentucky (USA) by 30% in the second half of 2023 – compared to the first half of the year. Additionally, Schneider Electric used what it learned and understood by analyzing its data to to accelerate the development of new reporting features in EcoStruxure IT.
