The time for spring cleaning is just around the corner again. The windows can then be thoroughly cleaned again. The Einhell cordless window vacuum BRILLIANTO promises to make this usually very unpleasant task easier. But how does the window vacuum perform in practice? We put him to the acid test.
Design & scope of delivery
The package of the main unit is compact and also quite light at less than one kilogram. Included are the vacuum cleaner itself, a 288 mm attachment, a spray bottle with a microfiber wiping pad for wet cleaning of window surfaces and a wall bracket.
The battery and charging station, however, are not included in the scope of delivery and must be purchased separately. Batteries are available with capacities between 1.5 and 6 Ah, with a higher capacity allowing a longer runtime. Suitable batteries and chargers are of course available from ALTERNATE. Other accessories, such as the nozzle and telescopic rod set including a mop pad, must also be purchased separately.
The window vacuum is part of Einhell’s “Power X-Change battery system”, which means that the batteries are also compatible with a variety of other tools. For example with cordless lawn mowers or cordless hedge trimmers. Further information and a list of all compatible devices can be found on the manufacturer’s website.
When it comes to the color combination, the device from Einhell relies largely on the signature colors red and black. There are still a few transparent and silver elements. For example, in the dirty water tank, so that you can always keep an eye on the level of dirty water sucked in. For the telescopic rod for the mopping pad, the manufacturer uses a silver color design so that the extension rods for the window vacuum and the mopping pad can be distinguished.
Ergonomics and versatility
In order to use the Einhell cordless window vacuum BRILLIANTO, you simply have to clip the battery into the bottom of the main unit. Since the window vacuum is really lightweight, even with the battery plugged in, even high windows can be reached effortlessly without much effort. No matter whether in your own home, in the car or with the neighbors: the handy device is easy to transport and takes up little space. The standard device with an attachment and spray bottle is ideal for most standardized windows in your home.
Thanks to the separately available accessories, the device can be used in a variety of ways. The nozzle set includes two different attachments. The 165mm narrow suction nozzle is specially made for narrow glass elements. It is therefore ideal for cleaning small mirrors, windows or even car windows. The extra wide suction nozzle with a width of 350mm makes it easier to clean large and wide glass surfaces, such as shop windows, winter gardens, balcony railings, window fronts or mirrored walls. The nozzles of the cordless window vacuum click into place when you attach them, and they can be removed easily by pressing a button on the bottom.
Einhell also offers a telescopic rod set for high windows, shop windows, winter gardens or areas that are difficult to access. The set consists of a microfiber cloth and two telescopic rods. One serves as an extension for the cordless window cleaner, while the other is a rod with an attachment for the wiping pad. The telescopic rods are infinitely adjustable up to a length of approx. 120 cm. This ensures optimal adaptation to different heights. The extension for the window vacuum is pushed directly into the battery holder and secured. The on/off switch is also located there, which means the device can be easily operated from the floor. The required Power X-Change battery is inserted at the lower end of the pole to ensure optimal weight distribution. In addition, a joint on the telescopic rod allows the angle of inclination of the cordless window vacuum to be flexibly adjusted to the surface.
Our experiences in everyday life
Enough theory, let’s get to practice. We subjected the Einhell cordless window vacuum BRILLIANTO to an endurance test and it was washed. Since the windows in our office were unfortunately too clean, we first had to do a little bit of help. With cocoa, water and lots of fingerprints, we made quite a mess on the windows to see what the battery-powered window cleaner really had to offer. The vacuum cleaner was also used in and on the car. Luckily there was already enough dirt on the windows.
When it came to assembling the device, we were a bit confused. The assembly of the components was a bit tricky at first and the instructions for the Brillianto didn’t provide much information about assembly, as they only consist of a few pictures. So if you can’t make sense of the operating instructions and, like us, are a complete beginner when it comes to cordless window vacuums, you can fortunately refer to the operating video on our ALTERNATE website. Test in the house
So after the first hurdle was cleared, it was time to tackle our prepared test objects. First, we screwed the attachment with the wiping pad onto the spray bottle and then filled it with a window and glass cleaning agent. This meant you could easily spray the cleaning agent onto the window and then wipe it off with the mop pad. A little tip: moisten the washing pad a little beforehand so that the surface is cleaner and the Einhell cordless window vacuum cleaner can work better.
Then the Einhell cordless window vacuum BRILLIANTO was used. The device is very light and can be easily attached to the upper edge of the window pane. You should pull the wiper down with a little pressure and a quick fluid movement to get a good result. The window is then completely dry, so no water residue remains on the window pane.
For the test we used the included standard attachment of 288 mm. So for one window pane we needed two vacuums to dry the window. You should work as precisely as possible here, as streaks can appear on an already dried surface if you vacuum again. If you are not satisfied with the first result, you should moisten the area again and repeat the process. After just one procedure, a clear difference could be seen. The direct before and after comparison is also impressive. The end result is largely free of streaks, we only had to touch up the top edges a bit with some kitchen roll.
Another plus point is the microfiber mop pad. Even after it was very dirty, it could be easily washed out with warm water and left almost no residue. The dirty water tank holds 100 ml and even after cleaning two windows, the tank wasn’t even close to full. This means that large surfaces can be cleaned without having to constantly empty the tank.
Test in the car
We also tested the Brillianto from Einhell in the car. Firstly in the interior on the windshield and outside on a mirrored window. We used the 165 mm small attachment for this. Here too, no water residue or streaks remained on the windows. However, the device is a bit bulky, especially for cleaning the windshield. This made it a little difficult to reach the lower edge of the window above the dashboard with the window vacuum.
However, the cordless vacuum cleaner with the smaller nozzle is very suitable for cleaning the outer windows. The smaller rear windows can also be vacuumed very easily with the nozzle. However, we had to repeat the process twice to get a really clean result on the outside of the car window.
Conclusion
Overall, the Einhell cordless window vacuum BRILLIANTO makes a good impression. The Brillianto impresses with its lightweight design and its versatile uses, especially with the accessories that can be purchased separately. It offers effective cleaning and dries the window surfaces without leaving streaks. With the Power X-Change battery system from Einhell it becomes even more flexible, especially if you already own other devices in this series.
However, there are a few small points of criticism that the Einhell cordless window vacuum BRILLIANTO has to accept. Unfortunately, the operating instructions are not very informative, which makes assembling the components a bit difficult. In addition, using the cordless window vacuum cleaner in a small space, such as in a car, is a bit bulky.

Measured by the comparatively low purchase price of around 50 euros, the Brillianto is in the lower price segment of cordless window vacuums. With the Einhell cordless window vacuum BRILLIANTO you get a really convincing overall package. The window vacuum performs well in most everyday situations. Another plus point is the versatile accessories. The nozzle set costs another 17.99 euros and the telescopic rod set costs 41.99 euros. Overall, this results in a good price-performance ratio.
