Foreign media tested China’s “Moore Thread MTT S80 graphics card” and found that it was not as powerful as its competitors. The flagship model of the graphics card even lost to the Radeon 760M IGP built into the AMD Ryzen 5 8600G processor.
German media ComputerBase conducted the test on the Moore Thread MTT S30 and S80 graphics cards, noting that while the PCI Express 5.0 technology put it ahead of AMD, NVIDIA, and Intel, its performance did not match up. The flagship model, the Moore Thread MTT S80 graphics card, failed to outperform the Radeon 760M IGP in various tests, except for a slight advantage in the DOTA 2 game.
Aside from performance issues, the MTT S80 also lacks support for the DirectX 12 API, making it unable to run newer games properly. With a TDP of up to 255W, the MTT S80 is priced at close to 1,800 RMB, making it a hard sell compared to competitors.
ComputerBase also tested the MTT S30, a smaller version of the S80, and found its performance to be only about 1/4 of the flagship model. In comparison to the Core i5-12500 iGPU, the MTT S30’s performance was 50% slower.
Overall, the Moore Thread MTT S80 graphics card may not be the best option for consumers looking for high performance and compatibility with newer games, despite its advanced technology.
