Samsung has brought one of the most interesting mid-range cell phones onto the market with the Galaxy A55. But the price range around 500 euros is particularly hotly contested and could soon be shaken up with the Pixel 8a from Google. The new Pixel cell phone is supposed to be massively upgraded and would also have a few other advantages to offer – if Google doesn’t take Samsung as a role model.
Google Pixel 8a is being properly upgraded
Google has already significantly upgraded the Pixel 7a compared to the Pixel 6a and eliminated many of the smartphone’s disadvantages. With the Pixel 8a, the company wants to go one step further. The next “mid-range” cell phone should be so good that it could almost replace the Pixel 8 and steal the show from the Samsung Galaxy A55. Google wants to improve again, especially when it comes to the display. According to AndroidAuthority the Screen now works at 120 Hz instead of 90 Hz and significantly brighter at up to 1,400 nits become. This would surpass the Galaxy A55 with up to 1,000 nits. Samsung should still benefit because the display is said to come from the South Korean manufacturer.
The Pixel 8a will be powered by the Tensor G3, which is also in the two top models. This results in significantly higher performance and better efficiency. The Galaxy A55 can’t keep up with that either. There won’t be an upgrade to the cameras, but the image quality was very good for the class. The Pixel 7a has outperformed even much more expensive smartphones and the Pixel 8a should do even better when combined with the new chip and software tricks.

The Pixel 8 smartphones are characterized by two important advantages. they are coming with many AI features and will be provided with software updates and new Android versions for seven years. If the Pixel 8a isn’t ruled out like the Galaxy A55, then it would be one of the most interesting smartphones of the year. The price is said to be a little higher than the Pixel 7a, but the extra charge could really be worth it. If necessary, you can wait a few weeks and strike after the first price drop.
