One of the largest solar roofs in Germany has officially been put into operation in a business park near Magdeburg. As the Ministry of the Environment in Saxony-Anhalt announced, the solar roof has an area of 108,200 square meters.

This is roughly the size of 15 football fields. A good 9.4 gigawatt hours of electricity could be generated per year, which corresponds to the annual consumption of almost 2,700 households.
