After seeing how to stream games from PC to Quest headsets with Air Link, Virtual Desktop e Steam Linkthe time has come to do the reverse path to find out how to transfer your files from the viewer to the PC.
If you want to move your captured videos and images with your VR headset from the Meta Quest range on your PC, the method couldn’t be simpler. There are exactly two ways, one for Windows and one for macOS. In both cases, you need a USB-C cable or an official Meta Quest Link cable.
On PCs with an operating system Windows, connect the viewer to the PC with the cable and enter the viewer. A pop-up should appear asking for permission to access the device’s files: click on “Consent” to allow the PC to access it via File Explorer.
Now the Quest headset should also be among the PC resources. Enter with a double click and navigate to Internal Shared Storage > Oculus and here you will find the folder Screenshots for images and folder VideoShots for videos recorded with the viewer.
They are macOS you will need the Android File Transfer tool, which you can download from this page. Install it on your computer, connect it with the cable to the viewer and also press “Consent“. Now, using Android File Transferyou will be able to navigate the same routes mentioned previously, that is, Screenshots e VideoShots.
