Instagram is working on a new feature that could make it easier and more interesting to connect with other users: the ability to add a motivation for follow requests.
At the moment, this feature is not yet official, but it was discovered by the well-known leaker Alessandro Paluzziwhich in the past has anticipated other Instagram news.
Instagram: how motivation for follow requests works
This new feature would allow you to write a short explanation of why you want to follow a particular userin order to give a first impression and facilitate the acceptance of the request.
At the moment it is not clear whether there will be predefined options or whether it will be possible to insert free text, but the idea is to make the following process more transparent and personal.
It must be said that the functionality is not entirely new to the world of social networks. The first example that comes to mind is LinkedInMicrosoft’s social network for professionals, which already offers the possibility of add a custom message when you send a contact request. We’ll see if and when Instagram decides to publicly introduce the feature which, we remind you, it is currently only in the testing phase.
In the meantime, staying at Meta but moving to the WhatsApp front, the well-known messaging app is testing its own file sharing system between nearby devices.
