iOS 18, a long-awaited feature is coming: all thanks to AI

Apparently, iOS 18 will integrate ChatGPT: the agreement between Apple and OpenAI, in fact, would be practically a done deal. But what will be the first AI features arriving on our iPhones? Today, a new rumor sheds light on an important feature related to AI that will be released on iPhones around the world in the next few months: here’s which one!

According to the AppleInsider portal, the Cupertino giant will integrate the automatic transcription of audio and voice messages on some system apps, namely Notes and Voice Memos. In fact, there has been talk of a major AI revision of notes on iOS 18 for some time now: according to some, the integration of the feature should be part of a broader implementation of Artificial Intelligence in all iPhone system apps.

According to AppleInsider, therefore, both Notes and Voice Memos will allow you to transform voice recordings into texts carried out via smartphone. While Vocal Memos will create precise transcriptions of the audio, Notes will do one step further, producing – in addition to the transcriptions – short summaries and bullet points of the most important topics of the analyzed audio. In short, a godsend for students. Finally, the American portal reports that the functionality it will also arrive on iPadOS 18 and macOS 15: Both operating systems will be presented by Apple at WWDC 2024, which will be held on June 10.

In recent weeks, AppleInsider revealed that many iOS 18 apps will be revolutionized thanks to AI. For example, the website talked about a major overhaul for software like Calendar and Reminders, as well as a total overhaul of the iOS 18 calculator, which among other things will also feature deeper integration with the Notes app. We then talked about Safari’s “Smart Search” featurewhich will use AI to make web searches faster and more targeted, as well as the integration of Artificial Intelligence into Siri.
