Before shooting EIGHT, the joint collection of Zucker and me, we started thinking about references and atmosphere. The pictures here are Part of the inspiration board With whom we came to shoot: We knew we wanted to photograph women with whom we have a personal relationship and we knew we wanted to Take pictures of them doing things. We thought about a set of photos that he takes himself or photos in the gallery – real or one that we manage to somehow produce in the studio.
One morning I happened to enter the Gordon Gallery and I immediately sent Einav photos from the place and wrote to her that this was the atmosphere we were looking for, and Einav worked her magic and got us the gallery for the photos.

In a blog post on Zucker’s website, each of the subjects answered a short questionnaire. One of the questions was what they will take with them for the weekend, which is a question that always interests me because I keep getting into trouble with it. Here is what they said:
