Apple’s Notes App to Get Voice Recording Feature with Next-Generation Operating System

According to a report by “AppleInsider”, Apple’s Notes memo app will be getting a major upgrade with the release of the next-generation operating system at WWDC in June this year. The new version of Notes will include a built-in voice recording function, similar to the integrated Voice Memos app.

This new feature will be supported in iOS 18, macOS 15, and future versions of iPadOS, allowing users to record, save, and play sounds directly within the Notes application. The addition of voice recording will enhance the interactivity and usability of the app, with users having the ability to add text descriptions or pictures to recording files to provide context to the content.

The new user interface of Notes will be similar to the existing Voice Memos app, ensuring a consistent graphical representation of voice recordings across all Apple operating systems. Additionally, Apple is reportedly working on a feature called “Math Notes” that will allow Notes to interact with the company’s calculator app, supporting the correct display of mathematical symbols for academic, scientific, and engineering applications.

The unveiling of these new features is set to take place at WWDC, along with the release of the first public beta version. The development of these enhancements highlights Apple’s commitment to improving the functionality and user experience of its popular Notes app.
