Microsoft Confirms Release of Windows 11 24H2 Later This Year
Microsoft has officially announced that the much-anticipated Windows 11 24H2 will be released in the second half of this year, with a larger scale launch expected in September. This news comes as a disappointment to those expecting the release of Windows 12, as it will not be launched this year.
One of the major changes in the upcoming Windows 11 24H2 version is the removal of certain built-in applications that are considered to be “tasteless” by Microsoft. The tech giant plans to reduce system bloat by eliminating applications such as Cortana, Mail, Calendar, Maps, People, Movies and TV apps by default. The tablet app will also be removed in future updates.
Microsoft’s decision to remove these applications stems from their low utilization rate, with most users rarely using them in daily use. The default installation of these applications has contributed to a certain level of system bloat, prompting the need for their removal.
In addition to the removal of built-in applications, the Windows 11 24H2 version will also introduce a new offline installation interface. This will include the addition of an “Install Driver” button to the Wi-Fi settings page, making it easier for users to install clean versions of Windows without requiring a driver.
With these changes, Microsoft aims to deliver a cleaner and more efficient Windows experience for users. As the release date for Windows 11 24H2 draws nearer, many are eagerly anticipating the new features and improvements that it will bring to the table.
