Sony Rumored to Release Enhanced PS5 Pro Console by End of Year

Rumors have been circulating that Sony is set to release an enhanced version of their popular game console, the PS5 Pro, by the end of the year. Speculation has been mounting about what changes players can expect with this new release.
According to a report from foreign media outlet “Insider Gaming,” Sony plans to introduce exclusive certification for the PS5 Pro. This certification will require developers to fully utilize the console’s performance capabilities to ensure players can enjoy a 4K, 60fps gaming experience.
Sony has previously implemented a similar certification process with the “PS4 Pro Enhanced Gaming” standard, which allowed players to access advanced features like 60 FPS and HDR. The new “PS5 Pro Enhanced” certification is expected to continue this trend by providing players with a curated list of games optimized for the enhanced console.
The report outlines three main conditions for developers to meet in order to obtain the PS5 Pro Enhanced certification. These include utilizing a new technology called “PSSR” for improved picture quality and maintaining a resolution above 4K, implementing “Ray tracing” technology, and ensuring a smooth gameplay experience of over 60fps.
While the standard PS5 is capable of providing a 4K 120fps gaming experience, not all games are able to achieve this level of performance. The introduction of the PS5 Pro Enhanced certification will make it easier for players to identify and select games that can deliver a premium gaming experience on the new console.
Insider Gaming also reported that the focus of the PS5 Pro upgrade will be on the GPU, with rendering speed expected to be 45% faster than the standard PS5. Ray tracing performance is said to be four times faster in specific scenes, and the computing power will be significantly higher at 33.5 Teraflops.
