Motorola has introduced a total of three new Edge 50 smartphones. With the Ultra model, the company is clearly targeting high-end smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. The new top cell phone even has a real unique selling point because you can also choose a version with a back made of real wood.
Motorola Edge 50 Ultra introduced
With the Edge 50 Ultra, Motorola has unveiled a real high-end smartphone that stands out visually. While the competition mostly relies on backs made of glass or plastic, Motorola has We opted for real wood or vegan leather for the new Ultra model. The company thus offers materials that you would otherwise only rarely find on a smartphone.
Motorola hasn’t skimped on the features of the Edge 50 Ultra. High-end components such as the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 are used, which is supported by 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage. There is one for this 6.7-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a brightness of up to 2,500 nits. The dual-edge panel with the thin display bezels should be easy to read outdoors.

Additional features include a 50 MP triple camera that benefits from new AI features. The cell phone is also waterproof according to IP68 and has a 4,500 mAh battery that can be quickly charged at 125 watts via cable and 50 watts wirelessly. The price is 999 euros, which seems quite good for the features (check out Motorola). The cell phone is scheduled to appear in the coming weeks and is a strong alternative to the other ultra cell phones such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra (test) from Samsung if you don’t need a pen but more memory.

The Edge 50 Pro is slightly cheaper at 699 euros, which also features a 6.7-inch OLED display and is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. There is also really strong equipment here with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. That’s even cheaper Edge 50 Fusion mit 349 Euro, which comes with mid-range equipment. Here you get the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of internal storage. Here too you can choose versions with wood or, in a limited edition, mother-of-pearl look (check out Motorola).
