Previously, WhatsApp users could only pin a message at the top of a chat. Both for groups and private chats. WhatsApp has now announced that you will soon be able to pin up to three messages.
Those: WhatsApp
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and WhatsApp head Will Cathcart announced this feature via their WhatsApp channels. Last December, the chat app first introduced the option to pin messages in individual and group conversations. It doesn’t matter which message you want to pin. In the future, users will be able to pin all types of messages, including text, images and surveys. Pinned messages can be very useful, for example, for quickly accessing information such as friends’ addresses or excursion locations.
In order to pin a message, you have to hold down the message for a long time, then a small window opens in which you can select “Pin”. You can also select the duration of the pinning. You can pin a message for 24 hours, 7 days (default selection) and 30 days.
This function makes it possible to sort out pinned messages as soon as the information is no longer relevant. However, there is no way to keep a message permanently pinned like an address. So you would have to re-pin this message every 30 days. The only alternative is to “star” a message and access it from the contact information menu.
