Prison Architect 2 Faces Second Delay, Set for September Release
Prison Architect 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular simulation game, has experienced yet another delay in its release date. Originally slated to launch on March 26, the game was pushed back to May before now being rescheduled for a September 3 release date.
Publisher Paradox Interactive cited memory usage issues as the reason behind the delay, stating that unexpected stability issues arose during testing, particularly on lower-spec configurations. After identifying the issue, the development team worked to improve the game’s memory usage to address the issues, resulting in significant improvements on lower-spec machines and consoles.
However, the rework led to new technical challenges, with an increase in crashes on other PC configurations. This prompted the team to divert resources from polishing the game to fixing crashes, ultimately delaying the release once again. Despite these setbacks, the team has now certified a version of the game ready for release on all platforms.
In a statement to Eurogamer, Paradox Interactive expressed their commitment to delivering the best possible sequel to the beloved Prison Architect franchise. With a passionate community behind the game, the publisher emphasized their dedication to not cutting any corners in order to provide a quality gaming experience.
As fans eagerly await the release of Prison Architect 2, the new memory usage system promises to enhance the overall gaming experience for players. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
