Apple to Rename “Apple ID” Account System to “Apple Account”
In a recent report by Bloomberg News reporter Mark Gurman, it was revealed that Apple is planning to rename its account system currently known as “Apple ID” to “Apple Account.” This change is expected to be accompanied by adjustments in operating system updates, including the new version of iOS 18.
The decision to rename the familiar “Apple ID” system, which has been in use for over 20 years, is seen as a significant move by the tech giant. While Apple has not officially confirmed the reason for the name change, it is believed that the rebranding is aimed at making it easier for users to understand and increasing brand recognition.
The renaming of the account system is expected to be implemented before the end of this year, with a potential announcement at the upcoming WWDC 2024 event. Apple has reportedly set up a dedicated team to oversee the transition and ensure that all Apple-related services and third-party app integrations are smoothly adjusted.
It remains to be seen how this change will impact Apple users and the ecosystem of third-party services that rely on the Apple ID system. More details are expected to be revealed in the coming months, with Apple keeping mum on the specifics of the transition.
In addition to this news, Apple is also set to launch two new designs of AirPods this year, as well as introducing improvements such as on-ear comfort and USB-C storage and charging boxes. Stay tuned for more updates on Apple’s latest developments.
