Robot vacuum cleaner with suction station Zaco A10 Pro in the test: Good for animal hair

Zaco builds solid vacuum robots. The company scores points with its stable technology and three-year guarantee as well as its sales and support headquarters in Gelsenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia. Even if the vacuum robots are good, they don’t offer enough for fans of real high-end technology – even suction stations are rare.

Highlights

Good navigation, doesn’t get stuck, always knows where you are Cleaning performance when vacuuming is good, at the latest when you drive regularly. Suction station included in delivery – minimizes manual intervention. Comparatively extensive scope of delivery with additional animal hair brush. 3-year guarantee after registration. German telephone support and based in Gelsenkirchen

That changes with the Zaco A10 Pro in the test, but wait – wasn’t there already an A10? Correct, the Zaco A10 (test report) was quite convincing for us, but the newer A10 Pro is not just an A10 with a suction station, but the manufacturer has also made various adjustments, so a lot has changed. In the test we show what it is and whether it is enough compared to the competition. At the time of testing, the Zaco A10 Pro is available for a moderate 350 euros.

How high-quality is the Zaco A10 Pro?

The Zaco A10 Pro offers no surprises in terms of shape and material. The model is round like the manufacturer’s other models and offers a laser tower that is slightly moved forward on the top and two side brushes. Even though the robot vacuum cleaner is made of plastic, it still looks sufficiently stylish and appears to be sufficiently stable and of high quality. The suction station is pleasantly compact and offers a slightly lighter anthracite color compared to the black vacuum cleaner. There is no cable management, but there is a fairly extensive scope of delivery. Among other things, it includes a total of two main brushes, one of which consists entirely of rubber slats and one of a mixture of rubber slats and rows of bristles. Advantage of the “rubber brush”: (animal) hair does not stick to it, so manual cleaning is largely unnecessary. It also includes two pairs of side brushes as well as two wipes and two dust bags for the suction station.

What can the Zaco A10 Pro app do?

When connecting Zaco models to the Zaco app, we got into the habit of not leaving the device in the station while doing so. In addition, the manufacturer is one of the last to require a pure 2.4 GHz WLAN for its models. Zaco should improve this as quickly as possible; that is simply no longer enough today. After that everything works fine. Adapted to the capabilities of the A10 Pro, the app offers less than expensive comparison models from the competition, but the app remains clear and easy to use.

How well does the Zaco A10 Pro navigate and vacuum?

Thanks to the laser, the A10 Pro draws overlapping paths and finds its way around the room very well. He didn’t get stuck in the test. Due to the lack of 3D object recognition, users have to clean up well before cleaning, as always, then there will be no problems with the vacuum cleaner. In contrast to the A10 (test report), the A10 Pro can vacuum and mop at the same time; it has a combined dust and water tank. In addition, the wiping cloth including the wiping plate can now be attached to the bottom of the tank in one move, eliminating the need to completely replace the tank. However, the Pro model lacks the vibration function of the A10 for the wiping cloth, which ensured better dirt removal. The wiping function on the A10 Pro is more of a simple dusting.

There is no real criticism when it comes to vacuuming. The model performs quite well on hard floors with its suction power now significantly improved to 3000 Pa, but on carpet there is still room for improvement. If you drive regularly, the suction power is not a problem here either. The automatic suction after the day’s work is completed is practical. It is loud as usual, but only works for a short time and reliably empties the internal dust container of the A10 Pro. The manufacturer promises a period of up to 60 days without human intervention – but as always, this depends on the number of trips as well as the actual level of dirt and the size of the cleaning area.

What size apartment is the Zaco A10 Pro suitable for?

In our test, the battery was good enough to vacuum 140 m² (gross), although in addition to typical furniture, there were three larger carpets on the test course with different pile heights. Like the competition, the vacuum cleaner continues to clean larger areas independently after an intermediate charging stop.

Price and alternatives

The RRP of the Zaco A10 Pro is just under 500 euros, but at the time of testing the model is available for around 350 euros. We also show other particularly affordable and popular models here:

Conclusion

The Zaco A10 Pro is a rock-solid vacuum robot with a suction station. Navigation and cleaning performance are decent – the latter even on carpet, as long as the robot drives regularly. Thanks to the two main brushes included, the A10 Pro is also suitable for pet owners. The manufacturer does not have a proper wiping function in the Pro model, even though, unlike the A10 without the Pro addition, it can now do both at the same time. Zaco has undoubtedly mastered the basics. Now, however, it’s about time for the manufacturer to start developing vacuum robots with really good suction. and Wiping function including matching station.
