Rumor: Star Wars: The Old Republic may be outsourced – Star Wars: The Old Republic

Star Wars: The Old Republic may no longer have BioWare’s team working on it, but could instead be outsourced to Broadsword Online, the developer behind Dark Age of Camelot and Ultima Online.

According to IGN, BioWare is believed to prefer to focus all its efforts on Mass Effect and Dragon Age. While Star Wars: The Old Republic may not have been the developer’s top priority, it’s been running since 2011 and still has players to this day.

Star Wars: The Old Republic has received eight major expansion packs since launch, with the latest DLC, Legacy of the Sith, launching in February 2022. If Broadsword Online takes over, it could mean the game might not get as much love in the future, but perhaps with BioWare dropping it, the MMO could get more attention, considering the latter studio is focused on its two main Franchise.
