Samsung raised the curtain on its latest creation at Milan Design Week 2024, capturing the attention of attendees at the Fuorisalone with its breathtaking installation named “Newfound Equilibrium”. In the evocative setting of Le Cavallerizze, at the renowned Leonardo da Vinci National Science and Technology Museum in Milan, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a unique experience that artistically embodies Samsung’s design philosophy.
The installation, conceived by the Samsung Corporate Design Center and inspired by philosophy “Samsung Design Identity 5.0: Essential∙Innovative∙Harmonious”, aims to put the very essence of human experience at the center. As emphasized by TM Roh, President and Head of Corporate Design Center at Samsung Electronics, the goal of design is to adapt to the human experience and Samsung’s design principles were conceived with this clear intent. The human-centered design philosophy aims to shape a future that blends harmoniously with the lives of consumers, through purposeful innovation.
“Newfound Equilibrium” presents itself as an inspiring vision of a balanced future, where man and technology coexist harmoniously. The installation offers an immersive experience enriched by multimedia works of art that engage the visitor’s senses, from sight to hearing to smell.
The five distinct spaces within the installation – named “Essence”, “Innovation”, “Harmony”, “Infinite Dream” e “New Dawning” – guide visitors through a multi-sensory journey that translates Samsung’s guiding design principles into a thoughtful synergy of light, sound and digital interactions. Thanks to the presence of displays, sensors and lights, interactive spaces are transformed, bringing the public closer to a future in which technology merges with the human essence in a seamless union.
The collaboration with the renowned master ceramists of MUTINA and the wood veneer experts of ALPI has also made it possible to reinterpret the Bespoke refrigerator and the AirDresser, taking into account the importance of coexistence between people and technology.
