THE ETERNAL – First song “Deathlike Silence” in 6 years

THE ETERNAL are back after six years with “Deathlike Silence” including a music video! The accompanying album “Skinwalker” will be released on June 28, 2024.

After six years of silence, Finnish-Australian metallers THE ETERNAL are today releasing the first digital single from their upcoming seventh studio album, “Skinwalker”, which will be released on June 28, 2024 via Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM). a musical sign of life. ‘Deathlike Silence’ also serves as an introduction to their new line-up, which includes drummer Jan Rechberger (AMORPHIS) and bassist Niclas Etelävuori (FLAT EARTH, ex-AMORPHIS). The track shows the band’s immense development and at the same time marks a crucial moment in their history.

The official ‘Deathlike Silence’ music video can be seen on YouTube:

The band says:
“In terms of content, ‘Deathlike Silence’ delves deep into the depths of human relationships and illuminates a painful event: two people are growing apart. The song’s gripping narrative contributes quite a bit to the confusing chaos and abysmal silence that comes with the separation of the two once so intimately connected characters. That very silence becomes a powerful language of its own, speaking volumes in its absence while reflecting the unspoken words and unfulfilled desires that lie dormant in the void.”

“Skinwalker,” which features several notable guests including Tomi Joutsen (AMORPHIS), Santeri Kallio (AMORPHIS), Sami Yli-Sirniö (KREATOR) and award-winning Tuvian throat singer Albert Kuvezin (YAT-KHA), promises to be a continuation of their rich slate musical heritage and will be a defining creative moment for the band. It was recorded at guitarist/vocalist Mark Kelson’s Lucidity Sound Studios and drummer Jan Rechberger’s Moon Unit Studios, while it was produced by the pair and guitarist Richie Poate. Mark and Jan also took care of the mix before “Skinwalker” was sonically completed at Crystal Mastering in Melbourne, Australia. Last but not least, creative head Kelson was also responsible for the artwork, which the outstanding skills of Travis Smith (including OPETH, AMORPHIS) contributed to the implementation.
