Samsung and many other Android smartphone manufacturers lag behind Apple and the iPhones when it comes to the pure performance of the SoC. Android cell phones are becoming more and more powerful every year, but Apple always manages to keep the gap quite large. This could change for the first time with the Galaxy S25. Samsung could eliminate one of the biggest disadvantages of its smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy S25 could keep up with iPhone 16
Smartphone manufacturers like Samsung have been trying to outdo Apple for years. But the iPhone manufacturer always manages to keep the gap high in terms of the performance of the built-in chip. Apple’s latest A chip is currently around 25 to 30 percent faster than the fastest ARM chip in an Android phone. That could change with the Galaxy S25 and the Cortex-X5 from ARM. The new chip is being developed under the code name “Blackhawk” and is intended to… enable the biggest leap in performance in the last five years (Those: SamMobile).
According to recent rumors, Samsung is said to be working on a new Galaxy chip for 2025, which will be developed specifically for smartphones like the Galaxy S25. The new architecture from ARM could be used directly there and Compete with an iPhone 16 from Apple for the first time. At least that’s what the goal should look like. It remains to be seen whether this will actually work in the end. After all, Apple has shown with its A and M chips that huge leaps in performance are possible there too. The duel is likely to enter a new round next year.
If your Samsung phone no longer works so quickly, you should try this trick:
Samsung relies on AI features
The pure computing power of the chip might no longer play such a big role in the future. Of course, it is important that the Galaxy chip has more power than its predecessor. The NPU, i.e. the Neural Processing Unit, is likely to become much more important in the future. This will specify the possibilities with artificial intelligence and its work speed and complexity. The upcoming Galaxy S24, as an AI smartphone, will give a glimpse of what you can expect from Samsung in the future.
