Technology Diary — April 1, 2024

Technology Diary — April 1, 2024

Although I’ve had the Framework laptop for several time changes, today was the first time that I had to change the time myself. The time was correct on the cell phone, but not on the laptop. (When I’m not in my mother’s household, these are the only timepieces that are relevant to me.)

When I click at the top of the screen where the time is displayed, I just get to a view where either I can’t change it or I can’t find it.

Here it is already April 4th because I didn’t take the screenshot until three days later.

Either it doesn’t work in the general settings or I can’t find it. I’m looking for set time ubuntu, expecting there to be a not-so-intuitive place to do this somewhere. The first result is instructions on how to do it on the command line, which I then follow. It’s the first time that a summer or winter time change has brought me to command line things. But it happens very quickly and I feel a little prouder and more oily afterwards than with other time changes.
