Combat headset trauma with a telephone set

I don’t like talking on the phone. If, in addition to my human shortcomings in this regard, I add technical ones, my patience will quickly run out. Because headsets didn’t really bring me any luck, as you can read here. The condition has not improved significantly. If they work, it’s ok, but unfortunately the reliability leaves a lot to be desired.

Today an employee comes around the corner who takes care of technical matters in our company and to whom I had already complained about my phone problems. He says there’s one telephone left now! (I was too stingy to buy one.)

Our virtual telephone system, which replaced our physical one after the corona pandemic and the irreversible urge to work from home shattered our office, can be operated with an app on a smartphone or on a computer (then with a headset). but also connect real telephone sets with cables and receivers to the system. I have something like that again now.

I can no longer walk around while talking on the phone. But I don’t have to try out whether the headset works every time. At least not when making a phone call. With video conferences, this will probably stay with me forever. In addition to an incurable projector trauma, I will probably also develop an equally incurable headset trauma. But I’ll notice it less often now.
