UL Solutions Launches New Version of Procyon AI Inference Benchmark Compatible with macOS

UL Solutions has recently announced the launch of the latest version of its artificial intelligence inference performance measurement tool, Procyon AI Inference Benchmark, which is now compatible with the macOS operating system. This update adds support for the Core ML AI inference engine, allowing for the measurement of Mac machines equipped with Apple Silicon processors.

The Core ML AI inference engine enables the execution of computer vision benchmark tests on the macOS operating system in a similar manner to those on Windows. The tool can assess various computing combinations, including CPU, CPU+GPU, CPU+artificial intelligence computing element, and CPU+GPU+artificial intelligence computing element. These tests provide a comprehensive evaluation of hardware performance and accuracy of artificial intelligence inference.

The updated version of Procyon AI Inference Benchmark supports a range of artificial intelligence inference engines, such as Microsoft WindowsML, Qualcomm SNPE, Intel OpenVINO, and NVIDIA TensorRT. It is also compatible with the latest processors, including Intel’s 14th generation Core with NPU design (Meteor Lake series) and Qualcomm’s new processors for Windows laptops.
