At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the most important fair in the world dedicated to mobile technology, Motorola brought a very particular device that seems to have come out of a science fiction film. This is a foldable phone unlike any currently on the market, as it curves to be worn on the wrist.
We tried it on the eve of MWC 2024, and in the video on this page we explained how it works and summarized our first sensations.
The smartphone, at the moment, is something more than a prototype. Motorola assures that this device will see the light, seriously, during 2024. But it is not certain that when it comes out on the market it will have exactly the current shape, thickness and weight.
In any case, Motorola’s “bendable” represents an attempt to innovate in a market in which, for some time, smartphones from the main manufacturers are very similar. Furthermore, the foldable display of this smartphone is perfectly in line with what Lenovo – the multinational that acquired Motorola in 2014 – has shown in recent years, namely notebooks with monitors that flex and unroll, to give more space to those who use computers to work and study.
Furthermore, generative AI creates a wallpaper for the smartphone suited to the look of the person using it. Just take a selfie, also framing your clothes, and wait a few seconds: the artificial intelligence will produce a theme matching the clothes. This function, already present on the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, is particularly suitable for a phone that is worn on the wrist, and which Motorola intends to be a real accessory to complete your style.
