this time we’re here, no more preliminary drivers

Just over three months after the official announcement of FSR3 and key technology Fluid Motion Framesthe red team is ready for its debut in a stable version: no more driver preview for the AMD frame generator.

Unveiled at Gamescom 2023 together with the rest of the package, Fluid Motion Frames can be used both in the context of FSR3’s frame generation, therefore in games in which it has been implemented and optimized individually, or exclusively, via driver, just like for the Radeon Super Resolutionto artificially accelerate the performance of games regardless of the work done by the developers.

After a long wait, interspersed with driver previews that allowed us to appreciate its potential in a completely preliminary way, AMD has announced that AFMF will be released publicly on January 24ththe date on which the new Radeon RX 7600 XT, announced at CES 2024 by AMD, will also make its “company debut”.

This will be a historic moment for PC gaming, since with this technology at the service of gamers it will be possible to benefit from frame generation on practically all games DirectX11 e DirectX12provided you have a video card from the red team, unlike FSR3 which, however, can also be used on the most recent NVIDIA options.
